Module 5: Audio 5.1

We can look to Emma's story for insights on how to monitor and evaluate accommodations use. Emma's special education teacher, Danielle, conducted a couple interviews to evaluate Emma's assessment accommodation.

Danielle asked Emma's test administrator, Ray Torres, to describe Emma's experience. Although Mr. Torres said that the accommodation was generally helpful, he was concerned that a science experiment that was set up in his classroom might have distracted Emma during testing.

Danielle also talked to Emma. Emma said that the read aloud accommodation helped her to understand the test questions. But it seemed like the test setting was a problem.

It's important to identify events or circumstances that may have affected test results. Danielle recorded this information, and may use it when figuring out test logistics in the future.
