Findings
Including English language learners (ELLs) in the test development process allows for researchers and test developers to gain useful information about ELLs' test interpretation processes. This study determined that bilinguals of various proficiency levels benefit from using both languages when asked to engage in cognitive interviews. This study is part of an investigation funded by the National Science Foundation for including ELLs during test development.
