Summary
Accommodation
Accommodations were not specified; instead, the focus was on teachers’ and parents’ perspectives of the application of accommodations (both instructional and assessment accommodations) for students with ADHD.
Participants
Seventy elementary school teachers and 62 parents of students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in eastern Saudi Arabia completed one of two questionnaires.
Dependent Variable
Two researcher-developed questionnaires (one for teachers and one for parents) were completed by participants.
Findings
There were statistically significant differences between teachers’ and parents’ perspectives on the application of accommodations, with teachers reporting higher levels of implementation than parents. Female teachers indicated significantly better implementation of accommodations compared to male teachers across all measured dimensions. There were no significant differences in accommodation implementation between schools that had support services versus those that did not.
