Summary
Accommodation
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the extent to which testing accommodations are granted for students with disabilities for admission into dental predoctoral and doctoral programs.
Participants
An extant data set of 144,373 applicants for the Dental Admission Test, inclusive of students with disabilities, from throughout the U.S. served as study participants.
Dependent Variable
To address the research purpose, surveys were sent to the American Dental Association (ADA) and to each of the ten independent state and four regional dental licensing boards throughout the United States.
Findings
There were 893 requests for accommodations.
